Our Story

Mighty Men of Prayer was birthed fourteen years ago as two men decided to start praying for our church. We began to invite others and before long we had 15-20 men praying alongside us at 5:00 AM on Friday mornings. What was created was an arena for men to come together, learn to pray, be encouraged, not judged with an opportunity to be real and transparent while sharing life together.

Because of the effectiveness of this ministry we formed Men’s Equipping Network, based on the promise of 2 Chronicles 7:14 and began to from similar prayer groups in churches citywide. To date we now see 15 men’s prayer groups in churches citywide. These groups serve as boiler room of churches they represent.

Mighty Men of Prayer

PRAY

Men’s prayer groups in churches citywide, where men find significance through an intimate relationship with Christ and fellowship with each other.

Goals:

• Currently 15 groups citywide. We are looking to increase this to 25 churches in 2015.
• Provide “iron sharpens iron” prayer and encouragement for men to grow in Christ..
• Develop dynamic videos for use at churches to increase participation in prayer groups.

Men’s Citywide Prayer Network

CONNECT

We see a network of 10,000+ prayer warriors, praying for needs of the community.

Goals:

• Develop citywide prayer newsletter to share prayer requests and engage 10,000+ to pray in unity.
• Develop database to inform people of ongoing prayer needs and citywide prayer events.
• Facilitate a quarterly network meeting of prayer leaders.

EQUIP

Mobilize men’s ministry leaders to work together in unity, providing catalytic events, discipling opportunities and leadership training.

Goals:

• Host 3 catalytic events annually to equip men to grow in relationships and effective prayer.
• Provide creative leader-to-leader sharpening opportunities for men’s ministry leaders.
• Develop citywide leadership academy to train men of God for sustainable leadership development.

Men’s Citywide Service Network

SERVE

Activate men of the church to engage in serving the needs of our community.

Goals

• Engaging men to unite people citywide, across racial and denominational lines, to work together on community projects.
• Connect business community and local churches to provide resource funds for citywide projects
